I have always been keen on holiday photography and after getting over the stigma of digital, in 2004 I purchased a Canon A95 Powershot digital compact, which offered the scope to play around with the settings and practice a lot more, instantly being able to see what you've got and delete.  In 2008 I progressed to a Canon 40D DSLR with which I was greatly impressed and gave me many years good service using the 17-85mm walkabout lens.  My camera now is the Canon 7D Mark II with the 18-200mm zoom, 10-22mm wide angle and 60mm macro lenses.

Digital is for me, it has given me the chance to experiment with the many different lighting conditions that nature has to offer.  I still have to delete a lot, but it enables me to take shots at more frequent intervals as the light changes.  I am very much self-taught gleaning ideas from online tutorials and blogs of other photographers.

I live in a beautiful part of the country, West Somerset, with Exmoor and its diverse landscapes; rugged coastlines, pretty harbours, sandy beaches, dense woodland, farmland, open moorland, rivers..... Also, for over 25 years my husband and I have travelled to either the USA or Canada, slowly marking off each state as we go.  The opportunities here for photography are boundless and even returning to the same spot creates different photographic opportunities.  Of late, we have started travelling closer to home, visiting Italy, Iceland and Scotland.

I find photography a great escape and relaxation after being in the office all day in front of a computer screen.  It's a way to lose oneself in the great outdoors, with a good walk to help keep fit and, hopefully, something to show at the end of it!

I hope you enjoy browsing my site.
